Socialist has different connotations for different people, and in America it has been misrepresented because American government caters to the profit and the wealth of the very rich instead of ordinary people.

In socialism it's not only the rich, but ordinary people like you and I matter. What's wrong with having a public system of health care where everyone is insured like we have in Canada? What's wrong with the corporations and the rich paying more taxes and having that tax used for the benefit of society in non-profit schemes. What's wrong with having a proper public domain instead of privatizing, that is, taking assets that belong to ALL the people and giving to a small group of people, usually their own buddies to run on a profit basis. You shouldn't just echo the words that rich want you to echo...God gave us all a little intelligence, why not make use of it?

I am a Socialist. I support affordable health care and education for all! Boy, that is a terrible thing, isnt it?

By the way, whats wrong with most of those words?

progressive - I would rather be progressive than regressive
fair share ( as in taxes ) - You have a problem with fair taxes?
workers - are the backbone of our economy
union - have been protecting our workers for decades. I shudder to think how bad conditions would be for workers without Unions.
humanist - as opposed to what? "godist"? I prefer Humanism, thanks.
struggle - sorry, conservatives didnt have to struggle for their wealth, I forgot.
visionary - Bush and the GOP always have problems with the "vision thing"
democratic - Oh yea, a real bad word. Why dont you conservatives live in a NON-democratic country then....?
social - well conservatives ARE anti-social, we know that!

I would say that most of them are...

I make that decision based on the government of Switzerland which is currently the only Direct Democracy in the world that most agree is socialist. Btw, they have the most successful economy in Europe.

I would say these are pretty good words Socialists (liberals) like to use. They also like "free speech", but notice how they try to limit it from anyone who disagrees with them.
Good values have nothing to do with Socialism. Socialism takes away a persons motivations to improve. Look at any Socialistic country (past or present) and you can see the horrible outcome of a so called "good idea".

anti-socialist eh?
Well then, me and Jesus are ashamed of you!

Blessed are the poor, for they shall recieve the Kingdom of God!
The meek shall inherit the earth!
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

Progressive is the one I despise the most. It is purely deceptive. Their policies would deliver us right back into the hands of a Rooseveltian and Johnsonian welfare state.
