Put a sign on your door "NO MICE"

You buy a device that plugs into the wall and gives the mice headaches. The headaches stop the mice from breeding and makes them move out. It works by sending a pulse through the wires in your house.
I've had mine for six years now and it cleared my mouse problem in 28 days. Since then no sight or sound of the little blighters.
You can buy something similar from Argos or QVC.

Alternatively do as Big Gascoigne suggests and tw@t them with a large stick, very slimming aerobics coupled with not being able to eat at home, you will look fantastic.

Cats don;t actually stop mice entering your house. Ascertain where the mice are entering your property, they might be climbing the ivy/virginia creeper entering the roof void and finding their way down pipe casing into the hot press( lovely and cosy) You may have a broken ventilator, you MUST inspect your property to find out. They could be coming from next door, Talk to your neighbour. Always remember prevention is better than cure. Dont forget that a mouse is doubled jointed and can get through a hole the size of a ballpen..

A cat is the best way I've found. If that doesn't work for you, try plugging any gaps and holes they enter through with steel wool (they won't want to chew on this) and also try spreading peppermint oil around the area too, apparently mice have a strong aversion to this.
And it goes without saying that you should keep all your edibles sealed up in mouseproof containers.

Good luck getting rid of them!

Get a cat!! so the mice have someone to play with. Lol. fill in holes in floors, skirting, walls and keep food in containers to prevent them coming in your home for a source of food.

You can buy "humane traps". They don't harm the little critters, just trap them. But be sure to release them quickly (to avoid stress - and heart attacks!), and release them a good distance from your house....ie at least 1/2 mile. Then it will set up home near someone elses house, and not just walk back to yours!

It worked for me.

Peanut butter was an excellent lure.

There is this thing don't know what its called and you can get it from a local hardware shop. It is a little box that emits a noise that the mice don't like.It its a high pitched frequency that only they can hear always works. They aren't harmed at all.
