Why? It's rediculous. I, personally, read every response a person makes BEFORE i give it a thumbs down or thumbs up. Even if you are a Republican (I am a Democrat) and you make a decent arguement to support your side...i will not give you a thumbs down because i respect opinions that follow two guidelines:
As long as they don't distort the truth.
As long as they don't post an immature question or response.
I believe everyone should follow my example. What do you think?

Understand, if someone says untrue statements about my party or point of views, i will give them a thumbs down just as i'm sure you would.
(Because obviously they deserve it)

but most people that are in opposition (Democrats, GOP)
have very different views, and (to me) it seems that the GOP always distorts thing to look as though circumstances should be in their favor. I happen to agree with "Scary Kerry," I too feel that the GOP is the most crooked bunch of [losers] in this two party system that we have here in the U.S....If I don't agree with what others are saying in regards to ANYTHING, I will give them a thumbs down because they are (as far as I'm concerned) wrong about their views and images of truth and justice. Repubs aren't interested in those things....as far as I'm concerned...

I give thumbs down if I disagree with the answer. By the way, I gave you a thumbs down, but that was just sarcasm! :-)

Politics and religion provoke emotionalism.
Many people react according to their viewpoint
rather than objectively.
Your example might be good for many to follow.

Most people aren't as reasonable as you. That's why. People just want whatever supports their side.

A lot of people posting here only want their opinions reinforced, not challenged.

When you can find some more dems who think that way, it could possibly take place. The usual is quite vitriolic.Which pretty well reveals the level of intelligence. Very few can extend themselves, as you have shown is possible.
