What type of files are you trying to convert? What type of files do you want them to become? If when opening/adding files you selcet 'show all' and there is an error, you may have to use a different program. You could also try locating the files in the folder, and right click 'open with...winavi'.

Try looking in the Options or Tools or Help within WinAvi, somewhere it will tell you the path / location of the converted files.
A quick guess would be either My Documents > My Videos or
C: > Program Files > WinAvi > check any other folders you see there.

well goto the folder where the downloads go, or use start/search
or goto the program that downloads these files and check the options of where it saves it to.. since winavi will convert almost anything
