teddy roosevelt.

a brilliant military strategist with brains and backbone. he was both appropriately conservative and politically progressive, plus he was an avid conservationist all without becoming a slave to the special interest groups. i dug that he didn't just talk a lot of smack, but that he had well conceived ideas which he implemented for the benefit of america's greater good not just for a few.

Bill Clinton. He stood up to the American right and frustrated them with his intelligence and political shrewdness - e.g., brought down Newt Gingrich (although he was ultimately humiliated by them in the Lewinsky scandal).

Also oversaw the largest economic expansion in US history as well as contributed significantly in resolving international conflicts such as Kosovo and Northern Ireland.

If the US Constitution allowed him to be elected for a third term, there is no doubt that he would've beaten Bush and we'd be living in a very different world right now. He would've dealt with the issue of terrorism more effectively and the American military wouldn't be in Iraq getting its brains blown out for nothing.

Well, Ronald Reagan had all the charisma and speaking ability that Bill Clinton ever had, AND he worked with both sides of the aisle at least as well if not better, AND he was highly respected as a gentleman and a diplomat, AND he never cheated on his wife, AND he brought down the Berlin wall. Not bad.

You know something else I liked about him? He started a lot of his comments with the word "Well.......".

Other than G.W.B. Nixon, and Reagan, history has proved that JFK was weak with the Soviets and Cuba, Carter was weak with Iran and the Soviets and Clinton was weak on the entire middle east & terrorists world wide and he cut our military spending almost a third, instead of going after Bin Laden he was busy getting some Monica and leaving his dna on her dress.

Would be a toss up between Lincoln and Reagan. Each was involved in freeing people from the yoke of slavery and/or communism.
