No, he's not retired. He just released an album in 2005, and was also touring in 2005 to support that album, although he hasn't toured in 2006. There is also word that he is working on a new album, though there is no release date scheduled at this time. He pretty much always tours around his album releases, so we can only hope he will do it again when this one comes out!

Hard-working pop vocalist Neil Diamond has been doing. Garden on Broadway in October, he temporarily retired from live performing. ... best I can do. I'm at work. Sounds like he is involved in a broadway show. He is so incredibly talented!!! Did you see him in "The Jazz Singer." ? He was excellent.....turns out he can ACT,too...multi-talented!!!

He has recently been on tour or is about to go again. I do know he has another album coming out soon.
