After the foundation comes framing, then windows and ext. doors, roofing and siding. After that, the rough-in of electric, plumbing, and HVAC. Then you're ready for insulation, followed by sheetrock and underlayment. Finsh work comes next: trim, paint, light fixtures and other electric, counters and cabs in kitchen and naths, finish plumbing, flooring and carpet, heat vent covers and thermostat. Finally, hook the house up to water main and sewer or septic.

Here is an excellent site that walks you through all the steps:

tricky question. not because it is a complicated process, it is not. It's just if someone gives you the answer, they will leave out important details that you need to know. For example permits, inspections, dumpster, temp water and elec, insurance, completion affidavits, etc. That's the tricky stuff not the actual construction.
First framing with windows and doors then roofing, then think of exterior and interior.
Exterior, brick or other masonry, siding, gutters, gas, elec, water sewer other hook ups, concrete, landscaping and yard.
Interior, mechanical rough ins, insulation, drywall, interior finishes, mechanical trim outs.

That is the abridged version. In depends on you circumstances. For example some builders, paint the walls, install hard flooring (ie tile or hardwood) then trim, mechanical, paint, carpet. Others leave all flooring till last. The first one in after walls are carpenters. Also you consider getting the driveway in as soon as the masonry is done, so it keeping the mess down. Some things need to be done on the exterior so interior work can be done. The exterior finishes need to be done so the electric meter can be installed, so the electrician can finish. Also don't even start insulation until the roof is on. My suggestion is to push like crazy on exterior finishes, don't let that fall behind.

I also suggest you talk to builders, you may need more suggestions.

Good luck

first of all arrange a good engineer ( civil or construction technology), discuss with him your requirements, get convinced, prepare complete detail plans and drawings then only start construction. your engineer will advise you and guide you to construct house!
