What kind of accountant? A CPA or an accountant in industry? I worked for a CPA firm for 4 years and it was not causal dress at all except on weekends. Now I work in industry and it is more casual. When you work in industry you basically adhere to the general dress code of the company you work for.

Never go to an interview in casual dress - CPA offices tend to be more upscale - staff accountants that don't interact with clients as much tend to be much easier on the dress code - if money is the object try some thrift stores - you can get a few outfits to get you by - the more casual the dress code, usually the lower the pay.

Business Attire. that's the dress code, and you will NOT find an accounting job that pays anything over $20K/yr with a "casual" dress code. It's just that simple.

the dress code is business attire, a casual dress code works if you work from home or if you do not want to be taken seriously

I don't know any accountants, but I would think they wear at least business casual stuff.
