I, personally, am discouraged by the lack of interest in this "event" especially among the younger participants
.
An earlier poster mentioned that this is just the natural progression of earthly temperature fluctuations. But just what if, we are now in a naturally occurring 'cooling period' but G/W is only making it seem as though this is a naturally occurring 'warm period'. Perhaps the worst is yet to come, when a naturally fluctuating warm period occurs in tandem with global warming. Are you willing to bet your life and the lives of every other species on earth that this only a hoax?
If anyone believes that we humans can continue to live as we do, burning fossil fuels, and that there won't be any negative adverse reactions to our climate, well, they are only fooling themselves. Factor in world population growth, especially in countries in the early stages industrial awakenings (like the U.S. was in the 19th century) and new coal burning power plants with no sulfur scrubbers (see China) we are in for a very rude awakening.
One other item; The earth is a living sentiant being. It is alive; It is in a constant state of change. Constantly moving new crust to the surface while subducting older crust. My thoughts are that if we tip the balance into the 'Red' our earth will become an unlivable terrestral platform. Perhaps slowly, geologicly so, but if we don't come to our senses and attempt to change, the planet earth will have no choice but to evict it's human inhabitants. Does anyone know of the past global extinctions? Read and be informed before you join a side in this debate.

I don't know maybe you can ask some of the villages up here that are not going to be around in ten years because of global warming. Or maybe the polar bears that are drowning because of the lack of ice.Have you watched a polar bear? A truly beautiful magnificent animal. You really can,t believe that its not true that man has kicked global warming up to high gear. What do you do to help?? That,s what I thought..........

Does global warming lead to global cooling? I'm not hot or cold about the issue personally.

there are so many things these days that you can be sick of hearing about, however, I don't think that we should ignore the global warming CRISIS. scientists have done their research and they're not lying to us. why do u think they're driving it into our heads? so that we can slow down our destruction of on our own planet. I guess it's too hard for people to make changes in their own life to bennefit the people who will be living on this planet in the future......real humanitarian like. or maybe they don't care.

Is anyone sick of tsunamis? is anyone sick of hurricanes? is anyone sick of tornadoes? just because you are sick of something that occurs naturally doesn't mean we should ignore it. Global temps. are on the rise and it would be difficult to ignore the signs that perhaps it is mankind that is partially responsible for that. Wheter or not you want to do your part to slow it down is up to you, but lets not deny or trivialize it. Just my thoughts.

I'm not sick of hearing about it.
I want more information.
When I get sick of hearing about something I remove myself from the source of the information.

Ever since watching Dateline, I think global warming is more serious than people think. I guess most people don't care, since they are selfish and figure they won't be on this Earth once it all goes to hell.
