I have a pressure washer that I have enjoyed; however, it always runs out of gas while I am using it. I then turn all of the gadgets off, refill it, and then begin the process to start it over again. It will not let me restart. If I let it cool down completely it will usually start, but I was wondering if there was a reason it did this and if there was something I could do to keep from having to wait so long in-between working. I am only able to do about a third or a half of a project at a time.

It's called Vapor lock it happens when a hot engine runs out of fuel some engines do it some don't even of the same model. either fuel up before you run out or you may be able to purchase a fuel cape with a primer bulb on it to force the fuel through the heated carburetor.

Check your owners manual. There should be a hand choke on the engine. Close the choke before starting when the engine is cold. Open it before starting when the engine is hot.
When you run the engine dry, you use gasoline in the carburetor float chamber. That has to fill up before the carb will work.
Don't run out of gas. Check the fuel level periodically. Keep track of engine running time so you will know when the fuel is getting low.

I'm not sure vapour lock is correct or not, when it happens to our trucks (usually if some dumb *** stalls them) they are tight to turn over. stop before u run out of gas, or try putting on a bigger tank.
there is a old trick to re-start it, but it's not really safe (especially if the engine is hot) take out the spark plug and pour a small (tsp) amount of gas into engine replace the plug, and it should start.

the only thing that i can think of is that you let your tank run dry, so that will leave air in your fuel line, try not to run your fuel tank dry

All you have to do is choke it again, this allows more fuel to the carb so it will start. mine dose the same thing.
