we've known each other for a few years, and we do a lot together. lately, he's been wanting me there at all his football games, and my friends said he's gonna ask me out. what do i do? he's my best friend. is it weird to go out with him?

It wouldn't be weird to go out with him. If you're very close just be honest & up front with him & ask him to do the same thing. It's always better to communicate rather than try to guess about what each other is thinking. It just saves a lot of hurt feelings needlessly. If that's what's on your minds it could be a great relationship. As for me If, my friend & I would choose to start dating romantically & I valued him as a friend, I would speak to him before taking it to the next level & agree that should the romantic relationship not work out, we'd be adult enough to remain friends. Just do it! My wife and I were close friends from 6th grade all the way through high school graduation. We started dating two weeks after we graduated and this November we'll be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. It's been an amazing relationship and I know we would have regretted it for life if we hadn't taken the chance. Friends come and go, but the opportunity for love is rare and should always be given fair consideration. Good luck!!!

I think that since you guys have been friends then that means that you know eachother well and there won't be a lot of awkward silences. If you guys break up, then ask if you could still be friends.

no it's definitely not weird. me and my best friend went out before, and although it didn't last forever, it was fun, and we're still best friends to this very day. do what you think is right. if you like him, go for it...but if you don't tell him you'd rather just remain close friends.

yeah just stay friends with him because if you turn out to be bf and gf and something happens then chances are you arent gonna be friends anymore either
