That is such a random thing to happen!
Ok how about getting a straw and hold it to the flap. Suck hard and the daddy long legs might get sucked out. If it's already died in there you'd better get the top off the player or send it back the manufacturer!
Alteratively, get the hoover on it - it'll be dead in a couple of days anyway.

They live for 3 days, it should have 8 legs not 2 and a DVD player is expensive kit! Do it a favour and Hoover it out of there, it's probably dead already!

fearjar, the daddylonglegs is not a spider, it's a crane fly (you're confusing it with the daddy long legs spider). The crane fly's legs come off easily, it's to escape from predators. As they live on average for one day as a crane fly I would give your dvd player a miss tonight. It should be all over this time tomorrow night!

Well a daddy long legs is an arachnid which is a spider , which is supposed to have EIGHT legs so it's already hurt. Put a dvd in and hit play. put it out of it's misery.

Could you be more precise please. What is it that you don't want to harm, the Daddy Long Legs or the DVD player?
