,I have very dry skin, too. I use "Curel" body lotion and hand cream and I swear by them. If your skin is truly having a dryness problem all the time you need to use something like "Dove" soap or a soap with Aloe Vera or Vitamin-E additives.
Do not get your shower too hot, as hot water dries the skin out more. The best time to moisturize your skin is immediately after your bath while your skin is still moist and will be better able to drink in the added moisture. Also, try to moisturize your insides too, by drinking more H2O.

go to bath and body works and get their lemon scented lotion! it works wonders! i had a really bad dry spot and my skin was cracking and stuff and i rubbed that stuff on it every night and it was gone in about 3 days!!! but if its ur face thats dry, it might make you break out. if its ur face i would get a face lotion from nutregena or Arbonne. Arbonne is one of those brands where you have to find a consultant and have them come to your house. I use Arbonne and their lotion keeps my face from being all dry.

baby oil in the shower, not to mention a body wash for dry skin, I personally love creamy baby oil/ lotion
