Somewhere"
Music by Leonard Bernstein
Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Performed by Richard Beymer (dubbed by Jimmy Bryant) and Natalie Wood (dubbed by Marni Nixon)

This is from the movie 'West Side \Story' soundtrack

There's a place for us, Somewhere a place
for us. Peace and quiet and open air Wait for us Somewhere. There's a time for us, Some
day a time for us, Time together with time spare, Time to learn, time to care, Some day! Somewhere. We'll find a new way of living, We'll find a way of forgiving Somewhere . . . There's a place for us, A time and place for
us. Hold my hand and we're halfway there. Hold
my hand and I'll take you there Somehow, Some
day, Somewhere

West Side Story debuted on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theater on September 26, 1957 and played 732 performances before going on tour - a very successful run for the time. It was nominated for Best Musical in 1957, but lost out on the Tony Award to Meredith Wilson's The Music Man.

Going back 2 decades, "Somewhere", a song originally from "West Side Story" (Broadway musical debut in 1957 and film in 1961) is sung by Barbra Streisand in her album titled "The Broadway Album" (1985). It was her first single from that album.

Going back even further for recordings of this song, * PJ Proby (UK artist) released it in 1964.

The song is from the musical West Side Story but I don't know who sang it or if there was a remake. The musical was on Broadway for several years and then mede into a movie in 1965.
