That car has what they call a shock strut. the shock absorber is located inside the spring assembly. It takes a special tool to compress and change them out. Most passenger cars have this type nowadays. The price for the struts themselves will range from $35-$100. Depending on the brand and type you use.

It has what we mechanics call McPherson Struts not shocks. They are attached at each wheel . They look like a long pipe with a spring attached to them , and they are replaced by using a spring compressor which you can rent or buy. Beware that if you are not familiar with replacing the struts on a car that it can be dangerous. One time at my shop we lost one and it cleared the doors of the shop and hit a car going down the street. Could have been a head....Normal cost down here in Texas is about $ 375.00 for the front and about $200.00 for the rear.

You might want to leave this job to a professional.
Hospital cost: $10,000.00
Ambulance Cost: $500.00
Tool rental: $150.00
Total Cost: $10,650.00

Mechanics cost: Priceless...

Well most cares dont have shocks, thy have struts. It has one at each wheel and is what takes the bumps out of your ride.
Struts are about 60-80 Dollors each.
Now replaceing these is not a saterday mechanic job. It takes springs compressures and dont do this yourself.
