You mother has lived an entire life, most of it before you were even BORN. She has had experiences and knows things that you couldn't even begin to understand. She RAISED you from a screaming, squirming infant who couldn't DRINK without help to the point where you are today. (Sounds like about 10 years old).
Why do they think they're the smartest? Because compared to their children, they are.

yes...your mum will always think that she knows whats the best for you...but she doesn`t think she is the smartest,she just doesn`t want that anything bad happens to you,and this because she loves you.no mother on this world will say something to her child just because she is the mum,she will say it for no other reason than wantig your best...yeah I know I sound right now like you mother,but this is true... look,when I was like 15,I used to hang out with some strange guys...of course I didn`t see it at that time,i was like blind,but she did know why she was alsways so scared about me hanging with them,and that just made me sick.the thing was that those guys were pimps,and gues what they thought I would do for them....I was like so mad at her telling me not to hang out with them anymore,and thought she was overreacting,always but everytime i came home,she began with her silly stories...then those guys began to make pressure on me to do some things and then I knew my mom was right...well it might not be the best answer or not even close to the reason she annoys you,but this is reality,I couldn`t see it at that time,but my mum did,so she was right,as much as it annoys me to say this.
so next time when your mum annoys you,think about,she doesnt tell you anything because she is overprotecting,or overreactin,or that she thinks she is the smartest...it just she wants your best.

I am a mother of three and I never have thought i was the smartest. it is amazing how much we can learn from our children if we would just take the time to get to know them. We have to learn from experiences and I dont know your moms situation on what shes so smart about she could be trying to save you pain but if its a constant thing and your never allowed to think for yourself or have an opinion I think it is wrong..I am a very eduacted person but i never would want my children to think i thought there opinion was nothing all of us can learn from our children if we step back and think our children are our future good luck

Yep we do...actually, we don't but we like to think we do. She is most likely trying to protect you and keep you safe. And no matter what you are going through she has probably been through it herself or knows someone who has. Drugs, boyfriends, girlfriends...the list goes on. Since you didn't say how or why she is annoying you I can only assume she is telling you what to do. And you don't want to hear it. Just trust her...she loves you and is trying her best. Parenting doesn't come with a handbook and we do make mistakes...but we try the best we can. We learn from our parents....if its something you think is really important to you maybe you have a aunt or uncle, grammy or gramps that can talk to her for you.

I know exactly how you feel. My mother in law thinks she knows everything but wouldnt admit this though. Expecially about babies and children. They seem to think just because they are older and more experienced within things that they know more and better than you. But i feel its not true as we are in modern sociaety now and things have changed dramatically since our mothers were born. Just try to ignore it, let them get a big head, you know best.

mothers do not think they are the smartest we just know by experience and we just try to keep yall safe and thats the way a mother tries to show their love wether you like it or not!

parents are always like don't smart talk me! but you know what they do? they smart talk to you. it's stupid but I'm pretty much used to the way how dumb parents act even though I might be the same when I grow up.
