I have often seen 'AFTER' following a persons signature on a painting, if the artist painted the picture ,how could it be after his/her death or am I wrong .

It means copying: "After the style of....."

They say after b/c , they probably mean that the chose to die or something , after they painted it. P.S. everybody elses answers are WRONG! Trust me!

After means it was painter by somebody in the style of the signed
artist !
