The objective of war is not to win.
It is to make business.
America's economy is totally deoendent on permanet war. This is why so many wars occur - the poliical reasons given are NEVER legitimate.

Davie-
The Bay of Pigs was not a war. Not even close. Where is your history book anyway?
You need to review your Civil War history, too. The country was divided. The south- the Confederates saw themselves as a separate entity and wanted to secede. The North wanted to keep the country intact. Hence, the war. The South lost the war and the country was re-united. But, you knew that already.
Who/what do you mean by Repubs.?
Have you studied anything in regards to military conflicts and the involvement of the United States? There's more to it than just your simple statements.
Perhaps you should read about the wars first before making blanket statements.

I am afraid that the Iraq war is another Viet nam war.
Johnston was comunistic fobic and saw one under every rock.
Every wire tap, he is a comunist. That system colasped on it s own no one needed to destroy it. Then Nixon was another one who was comunistic fobic. And carried on until Ford got in office and could see it was a losing battle. And ended the war but 56,000 young men died.
Before Johnston, Kennedy by diplomatic means he kept us out of many battles. But Johnston was an idiot and almost ruined the country. Everyone thinks he was behind the murder of Kenedy.
Carter was another good president, and was for the poor working man and the middle class. Balanced the budget and everyone had money. I have been around since Eisenhower.
Regan got us further in debt than anyother president and no one had money and the economy was horrible. Kept its downward spiral with Bush the father. Clinton pulled us up and got the country out of debt and everyone had a job and money.
No one in my life time has done a worst job, than the son Bush.
He reminds me so much of Johnston. But he is terriorist fobic.
He thinks he is going to make the middle east civilized?
During my last 60 years no one has been able to stop the wars in the middle east. When I was a little girl my parents said eat your dinner there is starving children in Africa.
So what has changed?

The bigges problem is that the USA is not allowed to go in and kick @ss because that is not how the world wants it done. There is always someone that holds them back. Iraq would not be such a big problem if the army was allowed to just simply go get the bad guys. It would be over pretty quick. If they thought you was a bad guy you get a bullet. Would not take too long for the people to fall in line or die.
In the Vietnam war, the troops was not allowed to fight. That is the normal problem, not being allowed to fight.
Then the biggest stupid thing we do is we help them to rebuild so they have the power to attack us again. Stupid stupid stupid..

Americans lose many wars because there is often so little public support behind them. It is difficult to fight a war that the people do not want. Look at Vietnam and Iraq. When the people want peace., and the government wants war then the government must fight a war on two fronts by trying to apease the people and win battles. Maybe we should stop trying to take over the world and do what the people want...be at peace.

There have been a lot of wars and you cant win them all can you, only the South lost in the Civil war thank god because our country probably be very different if they had won and not for the good.
We ended both World Wars ,won the Revolutionary War
I know many people who have been over to Iraqi and they feel they aren’t able to fight they way they want and would prefer to.
