Here is what I did as a parent. When my kids wanted extra money I told them they could earn it. I gave them extra chores (wash the car, weed the yard, mop the floor, clean the bathroom etc. etc.) and then I paid them what they needed.
This taught them the ethics of work.
Take this idea to your parents and they will be pleased with the idea.
Here are some hints. Always, clean up after yourself. Put the tools you may use away after the job is finished. Clean up any mess you may have made while doing the job. This will give you good work habits.

start cleaning the house and mom and dads cars too and do some cooking for them.
