I'm acquainted with my husband's friend's wife and we're invited to her birthday party. She's about 45 years old. I have no idea what to give her. Any suggestions? We have had long conversations before pretaining to being married, but that's about it. And that's only been about 5 times in the last year and a half. The party is at her house. Her husband is giving it for her.

I don't know how much time you have to pull this together, but go to eBay and type in homemade soap. There are a few people on there that make soap, scented lotions and massage oils that are unlike anything you can get from the commercial stores. Get a spiffy basket and put the items in the basket along with a fancy washcloth or scrubby, and maybe a scented candle. This kind of gift can be used to pamper herself, or share with her husband (wink!)

Oh, and if she has a quirky sense of humor and travels, there's a book about "Molvania" that is a kick! Everyone I've given it to has laughed and raved.

It depends on what kind of person she is . if you want to be sort of personal get her something for her house,a nice vase and flowers,a candle holder with candles Or a gift certificate to a local restaurant ....there is always a card and $..If she is a sentimental person maybe a journal from a real nice card shop..or a decent necklace, earring set keep an open mind ..what would you appreciate from an acquaintance?
