Go down to the local DA's office and get an application for a child support order. Fill it out, turn it in, and in a matter of months they'll track him down and start garnishing his wages.

If the DA's office doesn't handle that in your area, you can go to the department of health and human services, or just about any other state agency that handles family services. If they can't help you, they can at least direct you where to go.

If the jerk keeps chaning his phone number it's no biggie, as long as you know where he works, or his address, or better yet his social securtity number, they'll find him. Good luck honey, dead beat dads suck.

Good Luck, my son is 7 months old and i just got my first child support payment last month, my other 2 kids have a different father and pays every few months and he is now in the third stage of contempt and he is looking at jail time, i wish fathers were more willing to support there children, they like to stick it in the hole but dont want to pay the consequences afterwards lol.

Go to your States Attorney Office. It's an aggravating process- but if it works out quickly for you- that would be great. I divorced when my son was 2- I didn't start getting child support until he was 17.
The best you can do is get educated and get better jobs. You'll need to insure you can take care of the both of you- if the support doesn't come through quickly.
Good luck!

Your state should have a child support division. You should be able to find it in the phone book under gov. or go to the local welfare office. They should be able to get the information and paper work for you. Send in all the info that you need and they will contact him for you. After the order is in place they will automatically take it out of his wages he will never even see the money. This way you will not have to waste money on an attorney.

My daughter is 11 and i just got my 1st check 3 weeks ago..You need a court order for the ammount first, then its just a waiting game after that. My ex worked at cash jobs to avoid paying, had his license taken and spent time in jail, he has just now figured out that paying would be easier...So Good Luck and hope you can avoid as much red tape as I have had......

In Georgia, there is a state agency called Child Support Services. You might check to see if this service is available to you in your state. If so, you simply go in and file a claim.

Does he have a job? If he files a tax return they can take that. Take him to court. Most states (I know Washing state does) will garnish right out of their paychecks.

Go to the division of childsupport services. Fill out the forms they have. They will take him to court and make him take responsibility.

Court order and sometimes a shotgun does some pretty good convincing.

Report him and have him arrested. A couple of nights in jail should help him change his mind.
