The people who say "formal" have no idea what it is. It means "black tie" and I have yet to see a company require that.

Depends on the company. Some are extremely casual (I've worked at large corporate place that jeans and a tee are acceptable), some are business casual (the large corporate place that I work at now is usually jeans or khakis and a polo, golf or button down), and some are true business wear.

you dont have to necessarily wear a suit and tie, just put on some slacks and a solid color polo shirt tucked in and i think you would be ready to go....hope i helped.
