So somebody asks about the best ways to get rid of acne. I write that sexual activity (and in the case of minors, self-help, as it were, are extremely effective, since it helps with hormonal imbalances. Next thing I know, I've lost 9 points and the answer has been removed. Can someone explain the logic in this? Was it because I used the "M" word to describe self gratification?

Before dealing with the question I would like to see whether sexual activity has anything to do with acne.I found that people who know to a T all scoffed at this idea.Their association with each other is probably due to the fact that both are associated with the arrival of puberry. When you reach puberty, your body experiences hormonal changes that lead to the development and maturation of your sexual features. These hormonal changes may also cause you to get acne. Acne is associated with these changes, not with sexual activity.Researchers have found that acne is caused by changing hormones in the system. Heredity is also a big factor in the type of acne and severity of the acne a person has.In fact, in the proceedings of medical conference I found specific opinion that even in sexual dysfunctional cases under threatment with viagra the suggestion that some of the preparations e.g. Androgel and Testim may cause acne was discounted. So it is obvious that sexual activity even increased sexual activity with use of viagra has got nothing to do with acne.

When this was the clear position suggesting increased sexual activity(including masturbation) is nothing short of mischief. I have not seen the answer under review but presume that it was just the view of the answerer and not supported by any medical findings in support If that is so Yahoo Answer did the right thing to remove the answer. Yahoo answer does specifically warn that it is not bound by the medical or oher accuracy of the answers. It also does not charge any fees, like Google answers for the answer. But that does not preclude it from its social responsibility in ensuring that obviously mischevous answers do not get into circulation for the possible adverse effect it may have on an innocent user.In removing that answer Yahoo has only discharged this obligation.

The irresponsible charges levelled by the answers to the question under reply are best ignored.

I'm sorry. I've had this happen to me as well. I can't really explain the logic other than by saying that people seem to pick and choose what offends them. So the reporting system is never equally or properly applied.

i haven't read the other question but that sounds unfair. probably people thought you were trying to be funny. some people also can't see words related to sexuality because they think it's immoral (even though it's something necessary to keep the human existance). i'll give you a thumbs up to help.

No the person probably reported you for 'offending' them, appeal, it won't make any difference.
The greatest offense against political correctness is to offend someone (or just have them allege that you offended them if they are female or in a minority!)

no idea if thats actually what set it off, but you might want to check the rules and restrictions. wouldnt be suprised if you aren't allowed to mention that. stupid in my opinion, but hey, not much anyone can do about it.
