Should infected badger populations be culled and how should this be carried out.

The research is flawed.

The main source of infection is other cattle.

Farmers that do not allow their cattle to graze on the badger land and have a well organised farm, do not seem to have any problems. The research is inadequate. It does not investigate other wildlife carriers of TB. There does not seem to be any research or analysis in how TB is transferred between wildlife and cattle. The badger killing experiments should stop. They are a waste of time because the wrong questions are being asked and the scientific investigation is not thorough enough.

possibly, in the same way that every disease has a carrier. But why cull the badger because of this? Surely easier to kill all the cows, certainly easier to find!

There is real division on this question, I don't think that it has ever been proved for certain and I know several farmers who definitely don't believe it. I think it would be the most appalling tragedy if these beautiful creatures were hunted into extinction.
I remember seeing one very sad picture of a farmers wife absolutely distraught as Ministry of Agriculture people gassed the badgers on her land.

People have been researching this for over 30 years, and still haven't come up with an answer.
