I work for the NHS and honestly I don't think creating a board will do any good, and exactly how much are the people on this board going to get paid, probably more than a doctor saving lives how can they justify that. The NHS is in a terrible state. The problem is to many chiefs not enough inidans. They have people who have no experience in health care running things and they pay them a fortune, for what? Do they save lives? I think not. The NHS is a public service that is free to all, its not a business and they should stop trying to run it like one. I joined the NHS as I wanted to help people, I love my job and it makes me feel good to know that I'm contributing something back to my community.
But the truth of the matter is that there isn't enough staff or resources, god knows why, where does all the money go? It definitely doesn't go on staff I can tell you that much. It goes to the greedy fat cats in tweed suits. People with experience in health care need to take over, take the NHS out of the hands of the politicians. Then maybe it can get back on its feet, get the matrons back in and more staff, then perhaps there won't be the problems with hospital acquired infections and cleanliness. Then the NHS can be something the people of Britain can be proud of again.

This will be firstly jobs for the cronies. The true cost of wastage in the health service will show the Brown and Blair are incompetent fools. I feel that the operation of the NHS needs to be run by others than the government but they must be prepared to wipe the slate clean and start again.

Smells like the latter. How were the other privatizations done? Did any of those boards work out well? If so, then there may be some potential but I'm not sure health care is something that should be mucked with.

I think you are being unfair about this.
The NHS needs more highly paid managers, advisers etc.
If not for them, what would we do with all the money?
God bless them.
Wnakers.
