I hope these aren't riddles. These are just answers off the top of my head.
I would guess that an eagle is like a lightbulb because they both light up my life,
spring is like death because it is part of the circle of life ( life, death, renewal death of seed provides birth of plant etc.)
New ones?
How is a moth like a lemming?
or, how is a lemming like a drug addict? ( both follow instinct which often results in death)
How is a cupboard like a mind? ( many little spaces to store memories)
How is an politician like Pluto? ( neither are what we thought it was at the time of the last election)

to see a soaring eagle is such a wonderful thing and just lightens your day, just like a lightbulb
A door is like magic. You don't really know what is on the other side. Even a door that you always open -- your front door to your house. Will the dog immediately greet you, will your spouse be in a good mood? Will the house be quiet? All mystery and magical!
A car is like a cocoon. You leave the safety of your home to drive some where. While you are in that car you are safe from the world of people talking to you. You park and you are safe from the outside world and you let in only who you want.

A soaring eagle is not like a lightbulb in any way that I can think.

This assignment is asking for creativity -- specifically, your creativity. Asking other people to be creative for you defeats the purpose. Your mind's going to atrophy away to nothing if you keep this up. Give it some exercise, for crying out loud.
