The Andromeda galaxy (about 2.5 million light years away) will eventually collide with the Milky Way. Except for the centres where the stars are densely packed, essentially nothing will happen (other than both spiral galaxies will likely merge into an elliptical shape). If we're still around (a big if), we won't suffer any effects since the stars around the disc are so far away from each other that the chance of a near-miss or actual collision between any of them is very remote.

Yeah something like that but not for a very long time indeed. The Galaxy you are talking about is M31 which is the most distant object visible with the naked eye at 2,000,000 light years, so even if it was coming directly at us - which it isn't - it would still take a while!
There is a dwarf galaxy that is currently impacting our own on the other side of the Milky Way. If this started the Super Massive Black Hole in the centre of the galaxy to start feeding again things could get spectacular but not dangerous.

It's true, and like the previous answers have pointed out, we are unlikely to collide with any of the other galaxies stars directly.
However the 2 galaxies could tear themselves apart like a giant train wreck. Depending on which side of the galaxy we are on at the time, we may be hurled into the depths of inter galactic space are worse directly into the maelstrom of the collision!

Yea, probably, this thing happens all the time. But it will be millions of years from now, and then will take thousands of years for the event to happen.

it's going to happen, but our sun will burn out in about 5 billion years,so there won't even be anybody on earth to see it happen.
