Just curious as to whatt you were wearing.
I also like to set my own trends, I wear what I want.
However the word "popular" is not much used at my high school... You can be "popular" within your own group of freinds, but not "the most popular girl in school" (unless maybe you're the school **** who sleeps around with everyone.. then you can be well known and called "popular" I guess)

Anyway, I did the bra strap thing. (as my mother, dellajoy, said) I used an old black bra I had, with detachable straps and hooked them together around my neck. It was a nice choker. I wore that for a month or so... then grew tired of it. But my freinds liked it, it didnt catch on however, except through my friend becca wearing it. I was actually thinking of wearing it again, but I cant find it anymore.

When you come up with a new idea, make sure all your friends and all her friends see you in it first. When she copies you put a new twist on it.
Get your hair done differently, wear a new perfume, go to shops out of town so she doesn't know where you bought things.
Plant red herrings by talking about what you are going to buy next, within her earshot, and then get something totally different.

Don't forget to look back and laugh about it in ten years!!!

Do you know that copying someone is the most sincere form of flattery? THEY are copying YOU! Maybe you should just feel sorry for them...and continue to be the trend setter that you are...maybe you'll go into fashion design one day!

Yes, I'm sure that is annoying for you. Next time you think of something new make sure you wear it all over the school so everyone sees you. Have you tried wearing a bra strap (detachable one) as a necklace? My daughter and I saw that on "What Not to Wear" (as a NOT) and so she started wearing one every day for quite some time.

First, Feel good about your self for knowing you have such fab taste!!!

Second, ask who ever copied you where they got thier outfit from! Then say oh yeah i got a similar outfit from (where ever u got it), then add, you know the one you saw me wearing (whenever you wore it). That way you make conversation, be nice and point out you had the style first. win, win, win!

But if you want to prove it to others, everytime ya get a fab new outfit, take a picture of yourself wearing it on ya mobile. See if your mobile stores the date the picture was taken!!! PHOToGRAPHIC Evidence!!!

That you

You could try coming up with a fashion statement that is really UNCOOL and see if she copies that one. If she does then you can take a photo of her with your mobile and bluetooth it to everyone you know saying, "See, she always copies me!"

since you have such a good idea of fashion, and a sense for trends, you would be a terrific stylist or buyer for a major departmenr store

Do something obvious and biiiig.

Like wear an entire outfit of saran wrap to school.
She can't take credit for that -- you'd make too much of an uproar.

It's so sad hearing that someone buys something because "It's a new fashion trend"

Don't you have a mind of your own?
Can't you establish your own style?
Go your own way?
Be a trend setter?

Think about it.

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.....so be flattered and ignore the criticism......just keep coming up with good fashion ideas and pretty soon it'll be well known who is the genius behind the fashion!!
