hay there this is what i found given a best answer on a previous post. I don't know if it is true though
Bennett Joseph Savage (September 13, 1980-September 16, 2006) was an American actor.
Savage was born in Chicago, Illinois of Jewish heritage, to parents Lewis and Joanne Savage. He is the younger brother of Fred Savage, who starred in the hit series The Wonder Years.
Savage is best known for his role as lead character Cory Matthews on the TV sitcom Boy Meets World from 1993 to 2000. He graduated from Stanford University in 2004 with a degree in Political Science and as a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
His brother Fred appeared alongside him in one episode of Boy Meets World as well as in the film Little Monsters.
He made a cameo appearance as himself in an episode of the Disney Channel original series Phil of the Future.
Savage is good friends with his former Boy Meets World co-stars Matthew Lawrence, Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong.
Savage was driving intoxicated and crashed his automobile. He went into a coma and never awoke. He died on September 16, 2006.

No, he is alive and well, is married, and just did a sitcom pilot called Crumbs. It didn't make it, but he did great in it and he was really enjoyable. He was also the Mole in the third Austin Powers movie Goldmember.
