Actually when u lift the body by means of a pulley, u r doing mechanical work , but here u use ur body for the same hence some energy is obviously dissipated in the form of heat. So there is a mutual co-ordination of thermodynamics and mechanics.

Both, Chemical energy in your muscles converted to mechanical in your muscles converted mostly to mechanical in the pulley mechanism. Thermodynamics literally means changing energy.
thermodynamics
systematic study of the relationship between heat, work, temperature, and energy, now encompassing the general behaviour of physical systems in a condition of equilibrium or close to it. Encyclopedia Britanica
Thermo is often taken to mean heat when actually it means any form of energy i.e. Thermal under wear is used to retain energy in the form of heat, Thermal glazing on windows excludes energy in the form of radiation.

i think this is a mechanical work, because u have not told that wheather a person pulls it or a machine , but in both cases it is mechanical work with little differences in the process.
