I take my driver's test on Tuesday at 1:45pm. The test is to get my G license (in Ontario).... its about 15 minutes long, and mainly deals with driving on the highway, although they can ask you to parallel park, 3-point turn or do a roadside stop. Does anyone have any advice- things that I should do to avoid failing? Theres a high failure rate up here (mainly b/c they have a failure quota they have to reach... b/c it costs $75 a shot)

Be relaxed. Allow plenty of time to be there before 1:45PM. Wear flat shoes, wear slacks, wear light make up, leave your cell phone with friend while on the road test, adjust the front seat, adjust the inside and both outside mirrors, don't follow to close to the car in front, use turn signals as needed, don't slam the brakes when needed, try to stay away from using the horn and anticipate what the car in front of you is going to do including the car in front of him. When doing parallel parking, it helps to be driving a compact and not a full size.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Wow...I'm glad I don't live in that area. Here in Mississippi, USA all they did was ask you to drive around the block and they don't charge you unless you actually get your license and then it's only $25. But I guess that is also why we have so many bad drivers...lol.

All I can tell you is practice as much as you can and try not to let yourself be too nervous. The more nervous you are, the more mistakes you will make. Just remember you already know how to do this and try to act like you are driving with your parents and not a cop. Good luck.

i have my road test on monday. i live in maine going for a class c license. i am going on a road test prep right beofre my actual test. so basically i am going on 2 road tests, the first one is a practice one so that i can make adjustments for the real one. over the last couple of days i have been starting to get nervous. i am a good driver and i know that i will most likely pass, it doesnt matter how well prepared you are, you are going to be nervous no matter what. i have perfected parellel parking, and three point turns are easy.

all we need to do is stay focused.

good luck

Always keep two hands on the steering wheel, preferably at 10 and 2 on the clock. Physically turn your head when looking before turning any direction and pulling away from the curb. Do not be nervous.

they WILL ask you to park, eith 3 point or parallel, get out there a practice.

While doing the teat, take your time!! When you have to park, take 20 mins to do it if you have to...its not about how much time you do it in, its about how you do it!

Breath and concentrate...keep both hands on the wheel...and turn OFF your cell phone!

Hope that helps
