I think that in some cases lust turns into love. The big difference is lust happens right now...love happens over a period of time. With that said..once you fall in love...the lust must remain...There is a book...I reccomend it to you and it will answer these questions.
The book is "Love, Sex & Lasting Relationships" It's authored by Chip Ingram.

SINNER! REPENT, SINNER! YOU HAVE UPSET GOD! YOU WILL BURN! NO LUST, NO PLEASURE, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO ENJOY LIFE! REPENT!!!
That's what you would hear if you asked a priest. But I'm not a dumbass priest. Lust is part of love. Lust is inevitable and nothing to feel dirty or bad about. Lust draws people together initially and it is when people are most horny. It becomes love when the two people start talking about things other than sex, such as the weather, or puppies and they enjoy each other's company for more than just sex. Don't get bogged down in definitions of what is love or what is not love. Just live your life with lust or whatever.

I would have to say that, no, lust is not love. With lust, you can be burning inside for them and can't help it, but after the initial thrill, you can't stand the sight of them in the morning or don't know what they are doing still there 5 minutes after the heat is gone. With love, you can burn inside for them, want to wake up to whoever it is you love every morning, thrill at just the thought of seeing them and want to see and share your life and thoughts with that person. You care what their thoughts are and want to share with them intimacy that can burn even more brightly than the momentary thrill of lust, because you can trust.

no lust is lust, a physical hormonal burning which sends signals to the brain to be totally infatuated with this person, love takes a long time to develop between 2 people and goes way beyond the physical intimacy, don't let raging hormones and bad advice fool you

Interesting. Lust is just a need to satisfy physical desires. Love involves wanting to be with the other person in every other way, not just in a physical sense.

Lust isn't love. Lust is infatuation and infatuation is what you feel inside when you "want" someone really bad. Just because you "want" them doesn't mean you love them.

No. Mookie, lust is a wild passion, or desire, craving, appetite, carnality, lechery, wantonness, and even though these things sound appealing...they are only tempory, and don't last as long as real love which is much deeper, which are all of these things...adoration, affection, attachment, benevolence, courtship, fondness, friendship, passion, regard, tenderness, adore like worship, sweetheart...see the difference now, much deeper, with more substance.

Well they are not the same thing, but are related. Lust is the spark from which love grows.
