The Mariana Trench in the Pacific ocean is the deepest. It is 36,205 ft. or 6.857 miles deep.

You could stick Mt. Everest in it, and it wouldn't even come close to the top of the water. On the other hand, the Hillary Step wouldn't be nearly as treachorous.
