I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD DVR box, supplied by Adelphia Cable. Recently the quality of the standard definition recordings has gone down, while the HD recordings (and SD recordings from HD channels) are the same high quality as always. SD channels look fine when 'live', but anything recorded is overly pixelated. I haven't changed anything I am aware of, so I'm at a loss.

My DVR has gone out several times. Once for picture quality, once because it wan't recording scheduled recordings, one time for just shutting itself off at random and who knows what will be next. At any rate, all I do is call my cable company and they come out and exchange it. If you call them, I'm sure they'll work with you...expecially if you threaten to cancel their service. Hope this helps.
