Mainly children stereotype in that situation. As children progress into adults and begin to make their own living, they soon realize that money doesn't grow on trees for them to go pick off and buy a freaking $100 t-shirt from Abercrombie.

People live in their own little worlds sometimes. It's stupid, I try my best not to judge because you never know what you'll end up doing or choosing one day. When you run into someone with a closed mind, just let them go their way and be happy you're not like them. People don't realize there are so many different kinds of people and all different kinds of ways of life. If we all did the same thing, this world would be so boring.

Stereotypes are nothing new. When I was in high school they were everywhere. You were judged by your clothing then, too. You were labeled as a "hood", a "greaser", a "prep", or a "geek" by what you wore.
Teenagers are really bad about this, but it happens to people throughout their lives. I am still judged because I choose to wear comfortable, colorful clothing - not what is the "in" style or color. I have learned to like myself because I know that I am a good person inside.
The older you get you will realize that mature people look deeper than the clothes you wear to decided who you are. Mature people will get to know the "real" you inside the body and not care about how you dress.

This is a phenomenon that seemed to come to a head about 5 years ago.
The age of being nasty and stereotypical was born and Political Correctness was over.
It's a shame.
Some say it was a change in Washington...and now they can speak their mind...others, that the gap between poor and rich has gotten wider.
