50 stars - I'm in England and I didn't have to think twice about this one . I think somebody's having a bit of a leg pull.
It's always struck me that Americans are very lucky with their flag - it's so distinctive that if ever anybody has to hang it upside down as a distress signal it will be spotted immediately. With our British flag it could hang upside down for a week and no one would take a blind bit of notice.
In fact, many British people don't know that there is a right way up - (wide white stripe at the top nearest the flagpole). I suppose that's our equivalent of the twit who said 52 - 53 stars

There are only 50 stars on our flag,one 4 every state.
