polar bear: largets and heaviest. However some dispute this and say kodiak bear, it really depends on the specific bear.

The heaviest bear ever killed was a Polar Bear. They are "generally" taller than Kodiaks, but Kodiaks are usually bulkier.
And by the way the Polar Bear is considered a marine or sea mammal fyi. They have been seen 100s of miles off land.

We had this one at work once. We came to the conclusion that the Polar Bear is the tallest and generally the heaviest, but some Kodiaks can weigh more.
