In the DC area it is usually $75 hookup and $3 per mile. At that rate you are looking at a $525 tow charge. Many companies will make you a deal, you just have to call around to see who is willing to work with you.
It may be cheaper to rent a truck and trailer (or tow dolly) and transport the vehicle yourself.
You do not say where you are located, so I cannot make specific recommendations to you.

Towing fees are usually set by state statutes. In Oklahoma it would be $65 hook up, and $3 a mile. You might get a bit less for that distance. Actually it might be cheaper for you to fix it where it is and then drive it home.
Even with some discounts, you are looking in the neighborhood of $500.

I paid $40.00, but that was only about 10 miles. If I were you, I would talk to friends or family and see who might have a flatbed trailer and truck. Then offer them gas money.
