I know somtimes we shouldn't tell the truth id it hurts people. Like if they are ugly, I just should say 'You look nice" instead of "You are ugly". But Sometime, I should tell the truth to let them change their mind, their thought, their characters while they are bad in it. Am I right???

There is such thing as honesty and brutal honesty. Instead of you are ugly, how about....well its nice but do you want some suggestions to look even better? That is honest and not cruel.

Context has a lot to do with it; if a friend of yours who is extremely insecure is wearing a hideous shirt, and asks what you think, just say, "You look good." If someone's ugly, just say, "You look fine."
It's best to not say anything than to lie, really. Or you could just say, "That's cool," because you know that even though it isn't cool to you, it's cool to a certain group of people. Most people don't want actual answers when they ask questions anyway. They just want to hear that they look good or whatever.
A shrug or ambiguous (sp?) grunt works too.

truth is a subjective thing....there is truth your truth and then there is their Truth, the best way to be is honest with a glove.....you think a dress is ugly tell them "it really best suited for you in my opinion, I believe you would rock in " then tell them the dress style and or colour they would best suit.

If I think someone (dress) looks ugly...I say "O' you look nice but I think you would look better if....ETC.
Some ppl do not take straight criticism very well, so you sugar coat it for them. Then everybody wins n the end!

If you tell them there is a bomb under the table and not to touch it, that's one thing. If you're telling them they are going to hell and need to be saved, then no, don't.
