Never had this before but it would not move for a while..and all day it has ached..when i touch it also hurts..is this common??? also i have been resting it today and now I have tingling in me toes...

~~~ahhh sounds like you had a "charlie horse" (your calve muscle contracting) that is caused by a potassium defenciy. Try to eat a banana once a day,,,also when you do wake up with a "charlie horse" dont force your leg to straighten,,,just breath,,,relax,,,I know its hard to "relax" but just picture your calve keep breathing "who who who" once your muscle is done contracting,,,massage it a little,,,yes your leg will be sore for a day or two,,,no worries,,,,but remember,,,you need a bit more potassium. ~~~

Sounds like a charley horse.
These can be caused by lack of potassium in your blood.
Eat bananas, organge, potatoes. Perhaps get s blood screening from your dr.
When it happens again, try to stretch out the muscle as it is cramping.

It's usually a sign of poor circulation in your legs. Its made worse if your bed covers are tucked in too tight and your feet get caught when you turn over in your sleep. If it keeps happening, see your doctor.

Gentle exercise is the best treatment. When it happens, massage the muscles and wiggle your toes. As soon as the pain starts to subside, walk up and down in your bare feet pressing your toes onto the carpet.

And sometimes - it's just stress.

You can be sound asleep - and pull the muscle.

If it becomes habitual, then please see a doctor. As the others have pointed out it could be lack of exercise or lack of potassium -- but it is good to consult a physician and find out why this is happening - that is, if it continues to do so.

Sounds as if you have a Charlie Horse or cramp in your leg. SOmetimes when your muscle gets twisted or worked alot, it contracts and causes a cramp. It will go away on its own...if it comes back again...just rub it out. Happens alot to people who are on there feet or run.

it could be a few things.. but the most common it the potassium level in your diet... second which is most mis diagnosed is lack of water as well... drink lots of water atleast 2 litres of water... I think that's a little more than a half a gallon

You may need potassium. Eat a banana. Walk on it. If it is a type of muscle spasm, it should ease up. Otherwise, did you injure (you know, like bumped into something) I'd most likely say Potassium.

relies upon. On weekdays (as quickly as I could pass to college) I awaken at 7 and that i purely lie there for 5 minutes or so and then upward push up. On weekends I awaken at 9 and purely lie there twiddling with my telephone. i'd upward push up at watch television for a on an identical time as or so, yet i'd pass on decrease back to sleep.

Dehydration. I bet you haven't been drinking enough water... not liquids but water. Guzzle some down today and you'll be fine, trust me! My husband gets cramps in his calves every once in awhile and that's what our Doc told him so he just downs the water and he's fine.

I get those too and everytime I go to the doctor I keep forgetting to ask him why I even get them at night and the pain wakes me up. About the tingling I would go and see the doctor maybe its your circulation.....
