I dont understand what is wrong with me.. for at least a year now i have been feeling sick on a daily basis.. some days worse than others... ive been to see my GP but he says there is nothing wrong with me. I get stomach ache or sicky tummy feeling, I get sickness feeling but never get sick. i sometimes get a shakey feeling all over my body and a really sicky feeling but this doesnt happen very often. I dont drink alcohol, dont eat much junk food and eat limited sweet things.. however sometime i feel my body craves sugar or if i drink a cup of tea with sugar it can make me feel better........ I cant keep living like this its driving me crazy..
I have been to see the GP Nurse and had some blood tests done a while ago, but they came back all ok..not sure what the tests were.....
Any ideas?

The answers so far are really interesting and thank you..my husband has also said that this could be a sign of diabetes...

If i go to my GP and ask for a test for this do i need to have it done at a certain time?

Could this possibly be IBS or is it nothing like that?

i would go back to your doctor and ask for a fasting test for diabetes. it sounds like you have some of the symptoms like you say sometimes having sugar makes you feel better it maybe that you are low on the sugar at that time.
But anaemia is when you low on iron not sugar. The symptoms of anaemia is low energy and feeling very weak.
Go back and see your G.P as both are easily ruled out but it's better to be diagnosed as diabetic asap as left untreated can be very harmful long term to your future health.
hope this helps you.
best wishes.

Not necessarily full-fledged diabetes, but could be hypoglycemia, a precursor. If you eat too many simple carbs, your body produces too much insulin, which causes your blood sugar to plummet. For me, that leads to the shakiness and sometimes very mild nausea. Same symptoms if I go too long without eating. My doctor's advice was to eat more frequently and to never eat starch or sugar alone without some protein or fat (no plain rolls, but rolls with butter). She said peanut butter is great for that. Sure enough, when I followed her advice (I started keeping roasted almonds and other nuts at my desk for one thing) I found the after-lunch shakiness and lightheaded feelings stopped. I also found that the increased protein and fat meant i didn't crave carbs so much, so I actually lost a bit of weight. However, although I often test with high blood sugar, my fasting glucose test came out normal. I read that the 2-hour test I was given is not always accurate for hypoglycemia, which sometimes doesn't show abnormal readings until the 4th hour. Food for thought.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I go through the exact same thing from time to time...a real sickness that can last for days....and guess what! My doctor says Im fine too.

What has worked for me is taking two Ginger Root tablets daily. They work to ward off sickness and have worked an absolute treat for me. If you don't want to take supplements every day then just take them if you start to feel queasy! They are great.

I hope that you get some cure from all these answers cause it is horrible to feel sick ....especially when you dont know why!

Good luck

Two possibilities jump out at me. 1st you could be diabetic. Does this run in your family? Have you ever tested your blood sugar when you feel this way? 2nd are you depressed? Physical symptome such as stomach ache and nausea are really signs of depression showing themselves. Go to a real MD and good luck.

I get it too. No body seems to understand me. They probably think I m some crazy psycho! I m only 11 well nearly 12 but I don t know what to do. It makes me cry :( I m a girl by the way. Try methadone, it sometimes helps me. Go to a real expert. I bet my doctor will say the same too. They are rubbish these days! I don t know what to do. I have had it for 7 months or so, but its wrecking my life :( hope you are ok.

~~~Try eating more frequent smaller meals threw out the day,,,,I get like that too,,,shakey,,,nausea,,,then if I eat a little protein like a piece of cheese,or little bit of peanut butter that makes me feel better,,,,you may be a little anemic which is low blood sugar. some good foods to keep handy for these times are unsalted nuts,,cheese n crackers,,,banana,,,bananas are a great headache cure for when you first feel one comming on,,,~~~
