I think this means you have a beautiful home. I interpret things rather strangely and do not bring this up from a book or style of understanding. This is my truth the way I understand it.

I believe this means you have a beautiful home becuase out of all the places this butterfly could have chosen to die it chose your front door. A butterfly understands beauty. It was created with only beauty in mind. I would believe that such a beautiful creature could only die naturally in a beautiful place. I would think a butterfly would choose a place that has beauty within its soul. Within the soul of a butterfly is the truth of beauty so in order to die in peace it must choose a place that has beauty inside of it. In this case it thought your home had the same beauty as a butterflies soul.

Hails to the truth,
Silence

Once the butterfly lives for 24 hours it normally dies. It has to be somewhere so it is by your door. It don't mean anything but that it died in that spot.

think of the butterfly: always undergoing changes, from an egg to a caterpillar to a caccoon to a beautiful butterfly. it also is associated with freedom, beauty, and joy

now think about death. death is the end of changes, it is afinal drastic change. it doesn't always mean death in symbolism though, it could be the end of a dream, hope, or idea. it could even represent rebirth.

so perhaps this signifies the death of your childhood, or death of your butterfly-like qualities.

It could mean that you have been going through a transformation and for some reason it has ended. Abruptly. Take a good deep look into your self and see if you can find where you have stopped growing and changing.
