With all the "pushing the envelope" and edgy shows like Saturday Night Live, why is NBC so afraid of its new show--VeggieTales? It seems they signed up a children's show with charaters like tomatoes and cucumbers that talk about being nice and about, gasp, God, that NBC wants to edit out the God stuff. Why even sign up a childrens show that doesn't make parents into idiots and children intelligent put-down comic, but air one teaching kids how to get along nicely with each other--and this one needs to be censored! What do you think?

Hmmm...Did you ever think that maybe the fact that not everyone is a Christian IS the problem of the world today?? The FCC will OK television shows about rape, murder, kidnapping, abortion, Homosexual life styles, drug/alcohol use, teen pregnancy, child abuse/molestation, spousal abuse, etc...and programs are getting closer and closer to full frontal nudity and the use of every four letter word in the book, BUT let's make a HUGE deal about a good, wholesome program for children that teaches them to respect others, learn to be a friend, to always tell the truth, and teaches them that they are a valuable, worthy individual who is loved and protected by God. Good grief, some one call the police because a crime is being committed here! Give me a break!

My 3 year old daughter loves the VeggieTales and I would love to have them come on NBC unedited. I think this is gone too far. I am a christian....not necessarily the uptight, pushing religion down your throat and everyone is going to hell kinda of religious...but I do love god and I go to church and I am not your typical young adult. I have piercings and tattoos and I listen too heavy metal. I guess what I am trying to say is that even being what I guess you would call an unorthodox christian I still want the opportunity to have my kids watch quality programming. Besides whatever happened to "if you don't like it don't tune in." Why ruin it for those who do want to watch it. Us parents do still have control of our kids and what they watch. We need to stop allowing everyone else to raise our children and start stepping up and raising them ourselves. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and a chance to voice my opinion.

** I wanted to add something....when I say raise our own kids I mean raise them how you see fit. With your own religious and moral beliefs. We can all learn from each other.

You can make a good children's show without dragging God into the mix. Mr Rogers was a great Christian, but he didn't put that into his show.

Religion is a press-button issues, always has been. But not everyone is Christian. Why do people still have a hard time understanding that?

Just because you believe in this particular concept of religion and a deity doesn't make it true.

Why can't the show be tailored to all audiences regardless of religion?

First, Saturday Night Live hasn't pushed the envelope since the late 1970's. Second, they are afraid of any kind of controversy that will ultimately affect their profitability and bottom-line.

It's no longer about goodness or wholesomeness or morality. Now it's just about money. Some or alot of their sponsors what it edited. They don't care about us or our children. We need MORE shows about being nice and good stuff about God and things like that.Shows that talk about good moral values. The show Seventh Heaven was a good one.
