hah are you kidding?
even if it was okay, no player in his right mind would want to play with out a helmet. Unless they found out they're being traded to a shitty team, and want to commit suicide before enduring the pain of losing 9 out of 10 games

Making helmets optional in the NHL would be a worst decision than it would be to make them optional in the NFL. Think about it.
You've got a hunk of rubber flying through the air at 100MPH.
There are teethless giants trying to smash you into boards.
You're on ice with a dozen other grown men.
It would be moronic, at best.

Concussions were very rare back when the players didn't wear helmets. Players look at their opponents and they don't see a person anymore they only see padding. With players as padded as they are, there is a lot less respect

back in the days when they weren't wearing helmets, they grew up with it. today they grew up wearing helmets so it would be different for them. Craig MacTavish was the last to not wear a helmet. its a different time, but hey this guys back in the good old days didn't wear helmet and they where more scrappy then players today, back in the day they would yous the sticks more on the other players. like the Rocket Richard has got hit in the head on purpose back then but he would get back up and still play the game and score the winning goals. like i said different times.

Not me. Think of the injures right, now think of how much they will increase if we go helmetless. Why, do you want to see it go back to helmetless? Even if it did I know I would always wear my helmet, but then again I am a goalie and not crazy.

It'd be cool, but hockey is too rough these days for helmentless players.

No, time outs would be too long because they would have to scrap the brains off the ice

well it all depends on the player. if he feels confertable wearing one fine. if not he shouldnt be forced to wear one. also i think they should bring back old time hockey! more fights, more riveries, etc.
