I went to the hospital, had xray. They said I had a muscle strain. But at that time it was on my right side right where my lung is, on my back. Now it has moved around to the front left side.I have no insurance,so do you think that a muscle strain can move around like that? I,m really scared about this. I'm only 48.. Can any one make any sugestions for me? Thanks

Are you male or female? Men will have the sharp stabbing pain in the center of the chest a little to the left of the sternum (breast bone). Women usually don't. If you went to the hospital did they run any blood tests? When did you go? Are you sweating? Do you smoke?

It is most likely lung, maybe pneumonia, pneumothorax, collapsed lung, pulmonary emboli... Heart pain won't move except to radiate to the jaw and left arm.

It could also be gas or acid reflux. Take some Maalox and an aspirin. Do you have any other symptoms? Don't put yourself into a panic attack over it. If your chest xray didn't show any of the above lung problems then I would have to guess acid reflux. But I'm not a doctor.

It is possible that it is a muscle strain. If I was you I would go to the doctor not the hospital. They don't charge you as much as a hospital would. Wait a few days and just take it easy and don't do nothing. Do as little as possible. See if the pain has ease off any or if it stayed the same. If it still hurts then I would make the decision if I should go to the doctor or not, but if it does hurt real bad in about 2 to 3 days then I would go to the doctor. Hopes this helps. Hope you feel better and God Bless.

it could be the muscle around your ribcage and yeah it can move from front to back because your ribs are a half circle so force is moved from front to back. if you already went to the doc to make sure it was nothing else the best thing you can do is take some ibuprofen i get this in my ribs sometimes i take like 400mg or IB and then try and find a position that allows me some relief and let the medication take some pain away. mine is from sleeping on my side and moving weird through the night so as long as i can rotate my arm and make it go away for a sec i dont worry so much but the few minutes before i find that spot are kinda scary as the pain is in my chest around the heart region. but just relax and take some anti-inflammatories and rest.

Go to another hospital for a second opinion. I believe they have to take you, insurance or not!

did they do any other tests besides xray? could you have a kidney infection? go back to the hospital, they will take you, and make payment plans.
