im very worried i really want this baby but i have a threatened abortion(very likely miscarry)... i worried about this even b4 i started bleeding and it seems like my nightmare is coming true..my LMP was aug 13 so they thought i was about 6 weeks now, well i went in for my ob appt the 20th of sept and i was only suppose to see the nurse but since of my bleeding (no cramps, light red bleeding mostly only when i wipe, some little spots on liner, and switching to brown, then red then brown etc) i had to be sent straight to the ob, after examing me (cervix closed) he sent me to have an u/s... i did and they didnt see anything! i assure u i am pregnant.. 3 positive tests even one from the nurse.. plus they gav me a vaginal u/s .. and saw nothing so they think it might be too early to tell i go in for my second appt on tues im worried what do u all know about something of this case?

I went thru a similar experience early on in my pregnancy. I missed a period and did 2 home pregnancy tests which both came out positive. Went to the doctor to comfirm that I was indeed pregnant and due sometime in late december/early january. Later that weekend, I was having severe cramping and slight bleeding. We went to the ER, they tested for my HCG level which came back saying that I was pregnant. However, there was no sign of a sac or fetal pole when they did the vaginal u/s. So I was told to go see my OB that monday to check if my HCG level was raising and have another u/s. So I saw the OB that monday, still no sign of a baby but my HCG was going up. So, the OB had me come back the following week and had my HCG level checked every 2 days. The following week, we saw the fetal pole and heartbeat and now my baby girl is due Jan 13 2007.
So from what I experience, I think that you were experiencing the implantation of the embryo (cramping and bleeding) since they didn't see anything in your uterus. Have your HCG levels been increasing? If it is then when they did your first u/s, it was too early as you might only be a couple of weeks pregnant. Now another worry that your OB might have is that you might have an ectopic prenancy (implantation outside the uterus).

First of all you don't need to stress out. That will make it worse. I think you need to stay in the bed lying down moving as little as you can and eat healthy foods. One of best friends was about 5 weeks along and she had the same thing happening (bleeding). She went to the ER and they told her there was about an 85% chance she was going to have a miscarriage. They told her to go home and stay on bedrest for a few days. Then shewent back to the doctor and they looked at her a little better and it turns out it was some sort of polyp (sp?) bleeding and that she was fine. She bled a little more after that and she had to take it easy. Happy to say she's still pregnant and due on Christmas! Just don't worry. Sometimes ultrasounds are a little wacky. If you don't have a lot of fluid in you it's harder for things to show up on it. Next time you go to the doctor drink several glasses of water. I hope this helps. Stay calm, sweetie.

IFIN GOD'S WILL YOU'LL HAVE IT IF NOT ITS HIS
EVERYTHING FOR A REASON
EVERYTHING
STOP STREESING,CHILL,RELAX,BREATHE WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO
BECAUSE STRESS CAN ALSO CAUSE A MISCARRIAGE
BUT
THE BLOOD IM SURE HAD U BEEN NEAR MISCARRIAGE YOUR OBGYN WOULDVE TOLD U
UNDERSTAND THAT THE BLEEDING CAN ALL BE IN YOUR BODY'S REACTION TO HAVING ANOTHER PERSON GROWING INSIDE IT
THATS ALL
DONT LET NOBODY TELL U THAT AINT NORMAL BECAUSE IT CAN BE FOR U
ALL THESE EX PREGNANT MOMS GET ON HER LIKE NAH THAT AINT GOOD OR NAH THAT AINT HAPPEN TO ME

ANOTHER THING EVEN THOUGH U AND YOUR BABY'S FATHER ARE LOVIN EACH OTHER OR WHATEVER
BECAREFUL WITH THE TONGUE KISSING WHILE U ARE PREGANT EVERYONE HAD GERMS AND BELEIVE IT OR NOT IF HE KISSES U AND GIVES U A GERM YOUR BODY DISLIKES OR CANT FIGHT OFF IT WILL KILL U
I AM NOT TRYING TO SCARE U
BUT ITS TRUE HIS BODY MAY BE ABLE FIGHT IT OFF OR EVEN LIVE WITH IT AND BENIFIT FROM IT BUT YOURS MAY THATS WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY ALL IS DIFFERENT
RELAX,IF U HAVE A PRAYER LIFE PRAY,AND THINK POSITIVE EVEN WITH THE MOST NEGATIVE REPORTS

I'm sorry but it sounds like a miscarriage to me. I had one on Aug 15th 04, and had the same spotting problem it would keep switching from red to a brownish color. I went to my OB and he told me the test showed that my HCG levels was going down, I had new blood test done each day for one week and it keep going down, later that night I started cramping and went to the ER and my OB came in and told me that my baby had died inside of me. I hope you have better luck than I did! also I was 8 weeks when I lost my baby and they could never find it by ultrasound. Good Luck!

Try to be calm and relax. If I were you I would just really rest up until Tuesday if the spotting is the same as it has been since it started. If it changes in any way I would go to the doctor straight away. Either way you will be fine. Years ago I had some spotting and I was given some medicine and told to rest and everything turned out fine. Try not to worry so much. See how you go if you totally relax. Everything will be alright. God bless.

i sorry that you're having a hard time but i have gone through the same thing. i ended up having a miscarriage at 9 weeks but it wasn't really a miscarriage. just like u i had multiple positive results but when i had my ultrasound there wasn't a baby. it was explained to me that i was pregnant with everything but a baby and it wasn't my fault or my husbands. it is rare but it is something that happens. usually there just isn't enough information for the pregnancy to fully develop. I'm sorry if this upsets u but like i said, its something i went through too.

I don't know what can cause it, but I feel compelled to say that we get what we think about in this world. If you are worried, worried, worried about something, don't you find often it comes true? One thing you can do to help this situation is to try and change your brain's soundtrack or mantra. When you hear your mind worry about the baby, stop and say or think to yourself "There is nothing to worry about - this baby is going to be wonderful!"
I wish you peace and luck and every success!
