We have a program here where we have a lot of different groups do dances, boys, girls, bhangra, raas, filmi, etc. then we have a dinner....its lotsss of funn! =]

Most people before Diwali will spring clean and paint their homes. They will buy new clothes. The days before diwali are for exchanging gifts and sweets with friends and relatives. Some people play cards through the preceeding nights. On diwali day there usually is pooja(worship) of godess lakshmi(godess of wealth) and lord ganesha(lord of prosperity and remover of obstacles) and then lamps/candles will be lit all aound the house. Children and adults will light firecrackers through the night. There will be lots of goodies to eat.
