unless her boyfriend is 21, she can't. you have to have parental permission if you are under 18 to get an abortion and the person that goes with you has to be 21. i would tell your mom anyway.

Your sister got herself into a tough situation. You should get her while she's alone, assure her that you are not judging her (and don't judge her at all) and tell her that she should tell her mother on her own. I don't think it's your place to discuss this with your mother, it is her problem. Just let her know that you love her and will be there for her though the tough times she will be facing. If you do tell your mother she will have a hard time trusting you in the future. I don't see how she will really be able to keep this a secret though, unless your parents are clueless.
Is there another adult that you can talk to about this, because you seem to be bothered by it......

Another responder made me want to find out the law about the age of consent for abortions. It's not 21, it's 18 and it varies by state. Check out this chart, she may have no choice depending on where you live.

Tell your sister that you overheard her talking to her boyfriend about abortion and that she is pregnant. If you are mature enough to understand the concepts that are involved here you may be just the type of person she needs to talk to. If mother doesn't know, then your sister is probably scared and needs a friend. But don't tell her that she is scared, let her tell you. She may not be. Somewhere along the line, mom has to learn about it, preferably not after the fact, because you are both underage. Any decision your sister makes is one she has to live with for the rest of her life. Be sure to also talk about contraception. It's not too early for you to also consider the subject (and your gender doesn't matter).

tell your mom. i have an aunt who's a doctor and have had encountered a lot of patients rushed to the hospital because of the improper abortion procedures. a lot of those patients have either died or had psychological problems afterwards.
personally i think abortion is wrong. but i think that your sister should talk it over with your family. try not to be hasty about aborting the child. maybe your sister can have the baby and send it up for adoption..? i dont know. like i said, it depends on your family's decision.

tell her you know, ask her if shes thought what shes doing through and what kind of protections she is using. all the people that say she can't get one may be wrong if you live in canada i know you can get one with out any questions really asked and no one has to know i think you should just be support for your sister and not tell your mother this is a chance for you guys to bond and u can be her support makes sure she knows if she wants to keep it she can there is lots of help she may feel she doesn't have n e other choice but to get rid of it you can help alot i am glad you are concerned
at one point you put she qwas talking about doing it (abortion) with her boyfriend i hope you mean going in with him and not trying to do it with sumthing else if that is the case you think she might use a coat hanger or something tell some immediatly this is very serious and you could be saving her life

Are you sure she is really pregnant? Or just late. Been to an MD?
If it's certain she is pregnant... I'd advise you to tell you sister to tell your Mom within 2 days and that if she doesn't tell your Mom.. you will tell the news. That way your sister has time to tell her herself...and if she doesn't you can.
It's true...as somone else wrote, unless he's 21, they will need parent's permission to have an abortion. And if he is 21, and sleeping with a 15 year old... call the cops. That's illegal.

I don't think she can get an abortion at that age with out a gaurdians concent first, but I would tell your mother anyway to be sure. She is only 15! This is something that she won't be mad at you forever over. Her health is at concern here, and it's good that you would care wnough to let someone know that.

Umm.. this is a tough one. You do need to tell someone but only if she is sure she is pregnate. If it was me I would tell my aunt. If she isnt 100% sure that she is pregnate though dont do anything untill she is sure. And under NO circumstance do I think she should have an abortion without telling someone.

Yes you should tell your mom especially if she is going to get a botched abortion, it is very dangerous and she will probaly die from it. She is old enough to spread her legs she is old enough to deal with the consequences and have the baby.
