The most absorbable form of iron, called “heme” iron, is found in oysters, meat and poultry, and fish. Non-heme iron is also found in these foods, as well as in dried fruit, molasses, leafy green vegetables, wine, and iron supplements. Acidic foods (such as tomato sauce) cooked in an iron pan can also be a source of dietary iron.

If you like liver, it is the best source of iron. Spinach also.
Of course all fruits and veggies will be a good source for nutrition.
One a Day vitamins plus iron.
Just remember, it took you time to get deficiant, it will take time to replenish your body.

Green veggies, like spinach and broccoli, are rich in iron. So is liver.
I have been turned down from being able to give blood because of anemia. Those foods helped me quickly.

Personally I'm anemic too due to fibryoids which cause a very heavy period. I had that taken care of that issue and continue to take prenatal vitamins that I had bought at Walgreens, whatever your body don't need you'll get rid of.. I told my doctor of what I was doing and he said it was a great idea, no harm done.

Anemia is not always caused by a lack of iron. There are various types of anemia which are genetic. If your anemia is not caused by an iron deficiency, it can actually be bad for you to take iron.
