I love the Geico gecko!! I didn't at first when he was driving the tiny car and sitting in the passenger seat of a convertible but now they have made the new commercials not as monotonous and some are very cute. I believe the accent is authentic.

Dr. Z's a real person so I doubt that he'd make up an accent just to sell cars. The gecko on the other hand, sounds a bit fake to me, but I could be wrong. I don't mind either though, but at times the gecko's grate on me.
